Thank you very much for the time you will donate to benefit West Valley Little League and our players. We sincerely appreciate your efforts as a Manager, Assistant Coach, Umpire, or Volunteer. As a 100% volunteer run league it is upon all of us to help out where we can.
In 2002, Little League Baseball, Inc. implemented regulations to support their "Child Protect 2003" initiative. These regulations, and the resulting requirements for our league, are designed to protect our children from those who would seek to do them harm.
Little League requires that local leagues officially release all volunteers each year. This means each year, every board member and volunteer renews their volunteer application for the upcoming baseball and/or softball season. With that in mind, I would like to thank you again for all your hard work and ask that you complete a 2018 Volunteer Application form if you would like to Manage, Coach, Umpire, or otherwise Volunteer for the 20178 season. As the form states, West Valley Little League will conduct a background check and comparison to the National Registered Sex Offender list for all volunteers, including our Board of Directors. No one who assists in our league is exempt from this requirement.
It is the intention of West Valley Little League to not utilize volunteers who have a history of sexual offenses or crimes that involve children or could impact our children.
