2017 West Valley Little League Equipment Guide

Below is a sample list of equipment your ball player should have by level.

T-Ball

6T and 4/5T Divisions: White baseball pants, glove, (Optional items, T-ball bat, molded baseball cleats)

Baseball

Rookie: White baseball pants, glove, molded baseball cleats, (Optional items: baseball bat, batting helmet, batting gloves)

AA: White baseball pants, glove, molded baseball cleats, baseball bat, belt (Optional items: batting helmet, batting gloves)

AAA: White baseball pants, glove, molded baseball cleats, baseball bat, belt (Optional items: batting helmet, batting gloves)

Majors: White baseball pants, glove, molded baseball cleats, baseball bat, belt (Optional items: batting helmet, batting gloves)

Juniors: White baseball pants, glove, metal baseball cleats, BBCOR baseball bat, belt (Optional items: batting helmet, batting gloves)

Each team in baseball will have catchers gear to use, however, if you ball player likes that position and wants to grow in that position it is always a good idea to get a set they fit in. Also at all levels the teams will have batting helmets. You can purchase your own helmet but you cannot write your child's name in the helmet per little league rules.

Softball

Rookie: Softball glove, molded cleats, softball pants, (Optional items: batting helmet)

Minors: Softball glove, molded cleats, softball pants, (Optional items: batting helmet, batting gloves and softball bat)

Majors: Softball glove, molded cleats, softball pants, (Optional items: batting helmet, batting gloves and softball bat)

Juniors: Softball glove, metal cleats, softball pants, (Optional items: batting helmet, batting gloves and softball bat)

The league will supply the hats, jerseys and in some division colored socks to match the team's jersey.

For baseball in the rookie, AA, AAA and Majors division the bat must have a BPF of 1.15 marking with the barrel being no bigger than 2 ¼".

For baseball, Intermediate and Juniors level, the bat's must be one of the following:

  • 1.2 ¼" alloy/metal barrel with BPF stamp of 1.15
  • 2.2 5/8" alloy/metal barrel (no marking required)
  • 3.2 5/8" composite barrel with BBCOR stamp

For softball bats, the bat must meet the specifications in rule 1.10
